5 Décor Elements To Spruce Up Your Front Porch or Balcony For Spring

Birds are singing, flowers are blooming and the season of patio dining means one thing: Spring has arrived. This week I am starting with my curb appeal series. First up, I am giving you five décor elements you can use to easily create an attractive curb appeal to welcome your guests.

Let’s get inspired!

PLANTERS

First and foremost—Planters, even if your porch can only hold two planters, then go for it! Boxwoods are my favorite go-to, because they’re classic, timeless and not to mention they’re an evergreen plant. So even in the winter they are adding that porch envy. But remember, there are many more other plants and flowers that can still turn heads.

BALCONY

Balconies are considered the front porch of apartments so herbs are highly used, especially in France because this is utilized as the garden as well. Let’s Parisian those balconies no matter where you live.

rugs & seating

It's hard to split these two elements up because typically when you have one you have the other. Depending on the space you have there are many ways to bring in color and/or pattern to the floor. To sit or not to sit that is the question! If the space permits seating, do it! This is what makes it livable!

Aah, and don’t underestimate the “welcome mat” game! It’s an opportunity to go classic or wild

PORCH

Depending on your porch size and view, you can create a whole seating arrangement fit for conversation or have the accent of seating.

Lighting

Lighting is like jewelry to your black cocktail dress! There are many inexpensive options at your local hardware store to add that jewel to your front porch or string lighting to your balcony.

BALCONIES

String lighting and candles are going to be your best friend! Talk about the lighting affect! There are battery operated ones, so this helps with the headache of not having an electrical outlet or burning down the building.
